Books Turned to Movies!

Yeah! That’s right! We’re finally doing this. As you can probably all tell from the title, we’re going to take this time and fangirl about all of the upcoming book turned movies! C’mon, you all know what i’m talking about. So, let’s look some trailers!

First off, I’m just going to start with Stephenie Meyer’s The Host!

Melanie Stryder refuses to fade away. Our world has been invaded by an unseen enemy. Humans become hosts for these invaders, their minds taken over while their bodies remain intact and continue their lives apparently unchanged. Most of humanity has succumbed.

When Melanie, one of the few remaining “wild” humans, is captured, she is certain it is her end. Wanderer, the invading “soul” who has been given Melanie’s body, was warned about the challenges of living inside a human: the overwhelming emotions, the glut of senses, the too-vivid memories. But there was one difficulty Wanderer didn’t expect: the former tenant of her body refusing to relinquish possession of her mind.

Wanderer probes Melanie’s thoughts, hoping to discover the whereabouts of the remaining human resistance. Instead, Melanie fills Wanderer’s mind with visions of the man Melanie loves – Jared, a human who still lives in hiding. Unable to separate herself from her body’s desires, Wanderer begins to yearn for a man she has been tasked with exposing. When outside forces make Wanderer and Melanie unwilling allies, they set off on a dangerous and uncertain search for the man they both love.

I honestly cannot wait to watch this movie. The trailer just looks soooo good! I’ve heard really disappointing things about the book and how its too slow, and I plan to read it before it comes out (hopefully). I just hope that the book prove everybody wrong by being as good and exciting as this trailer! Maybe even better!

The Host comes out on March 29, 2013. Click HERE for more information.

Time for the second trailer!

A book called Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion.

R is a young man with an existential crisis–he is a zombie. He shuffles through an America destroyed by war, social collapse, and the mindless hunger of his undead comrades, but he craves something more than blood and brains. He can speak just a few grunted syllables, but his inner life is deep, full of wonder and longing. He has no memories, no identity, and no pulse, but he has dreams.

After experiencing a teenage boy’s memories while consuming his brain, R makes an unexpected choice that begins a tense, awkward, and strangely sweet relationship with the victim’s human girlfriend. Julie is a blast of color in the otherwise dreary and gray landscape that surrounds R. His decision to protect her will transform not only R, but his fellow Dead, and perhaps their whole lifeless world.

Scary, funny, and surprisingly poignant, Warm Bodies is about being alive, being dead and the blurry line in between.

When I saw the trailer to this while I was watching Breaking Dawn part 2, I just laughed my butt off! Seriously, I thought the movie would be amazing, then I found out it was based on a book, I fangirled and decided on the spot that I would buy it the moment I see it. A romance between a zombie and a human. Who saw that coming? But seriously guys, it sounds really good, so check it out!

Warm Bodies comes out on February 1, 2013. Click HERE for more information.

I’m also really excited for the Beautiful Creatures movie by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl.

There were no surprises in Gatlin County.
We were pretty much the epicenter of the middle of nowhere.

At least, that’s what I thought.
Turns out, I couldn’t have been more wrong.
There was a curse.
There was a girl.
And in the end, there was a grave.

Lena Duchannes is unlike anyone the small Southern town of Gatlin has ever seen, and she’s struggling to conceal her power and a curse that has haunted her family for generations. But even within the overgrown gardens, murky swamps and crumbling graveyards of the forgotten South, a secret cannot stay hidden forever.

Ethan Wate, who has been counting the months until he can escape from Gatlin, is haunted by dreams of a beautiful girl he has never met. When Lena moves into the town’s oldest and most infamous plantation, Ethan is inexplicably drawn to her and determined to uncover the connection between them.

In a town with no surprises, one secret could change everything.

I’m so excited for the movie to come out. Personally, I loved the book. It was written in Ethan’s point of view and finding out his feelings and just knowing what he thinks about Lena is just really intriguing to read. I think it’s the fact that it’s written in the P.O.V. of the guy instead of the usual girl’s that makes it really interesting and so much more romantic. I can’t wait!

Beautiful Creatures comes out on February 13, 2013. Click HERE for more information.

Last but most certainly NOT LEAST. Who would dare ever forget The Mortal Instruments Trailer City of Bones?

I know, I know. I’m pretty late? Yes, I know that. But in my defense, I’ve wanted to post this the moment I laid eyes on the trailer, but… well…. okay, there’s no excuse for lazy-ness so I’m sorry. But, I am proud to present the City of Bones Trailer! (WOOT WOOOT WOOT WOOT!) …..( Guess you all know which one I’m looking forward to the most….)

When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder — much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It’s hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing — not even a smear of blood — to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?

This is Clary’s first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It’s also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace’s world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know. . . .

Exotic and gritty, exhilarating and utterly gripping, Cassandra Clare’s ferociously entertaining fantasy takes readers on a wild ride that they will never want to end.

Okay, Who is not excited for this movie? (eheemmm nobody ehemm, eheemmm…) As I was saying, who is not exited? I mean, The Mortal Instruments Series is one of the biggest fandoms we have. And as you probably all know ( from the WAY more pictures I posted for this movie) I love this friggin book. Not just love, more of obsessed. I mean, when Cassandra Clare came to Toronto for a book signing, I woke up at 6 o’clock and waited nearly seven hours to meet the great Cassandra Clare, and can I just say, she was awesomer than expected!

Most people are probably hating on the movie because ceratin characters (ehemm JACE and CLARY ehemmm….) aren’t at all who you hoped they would be or isn’t eh epitome of your ideals, but honestly? Who cares? when the movie comes out amd we see how amazing it turns out we’ll realize that they did an amazing job and we’ll all probably just love them. I know I was confused when they chose the cast for the Hunger Games but then I realized they were perfect for the roles. So let’s just all trust Cassie and believe that she knows what she’s doing! ( And let’s admit it, they’re all frickin hot and Jace has a frickin accent!)

If you all don’t already know, this series is one of my favorite series and I’ve only ever considered 2 other series to be in the same league as this. I’ve been reading the books and waiting for it to be published one by one and now, its turned into a movie! So forgive me for being too fangirly about it, but THIS SERIES IS FRICKIN AMAZING and you all need to read it now!

The Mortal Instruments City of Bones comes out on August 23, 2013. Click HERE for more details.

That is all. Goodbye my beautiful viewers! And I hope you enjoyed my (huge) fangirl moment! Ciao! 😀
